Following the refusal of repented militant to
appear before Justice Ibrahim Buba of the
Federal High Court, a bench warrant was
issued for his arrest. Tompolo has consistently been in the news
recently, due to his runnings with the Economic
and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The police has denied receiving the warrant for
the arrest of the ex-militant leader. According to Punch, the Force Public Relations
Officer, Olabisi Kolawole said “We have not
received the court order on Tompolo till now
and that is why we have not effected his
arrest.” Following the refusal of repented militant to
appear before Justice Ibrahim Buba of the
Federal High Court, a bench warrant was
issued for his arrest. The EFCC has levelled different fraud allegations
against Tomplo and his accomplice, the former
boss of Nigerian Maritime Administration and
Safety Agency (NIMASA), Patrick
Akpobolokemi. In a fresh charge brought against him recently,
the ex-militant leader was accused of
defrauding the Federal Government to the tune
of N22.8b Akpobolokemi is currently standing trial, but
Tompolo has refused to show up in court,
despite a court order that was issued for him to
appear in court.
